New WordPress based CMS and Theme YORGOO - Semiomantics

Publish your own News Paper online - a dream comes true!

Are you interested in a specific topic, have you acquired particular knowledge (Brenda Baker brings offline Business to the internet), authority (Larrie Perkins, expert in online tax filing and Home Business Tax Benefits)or are you an affecionado of a great product (Champagne, Laetitia Paris would shout…), monetize your passion by publishing your own contextual News Paper the professional way.

Blogs are fine and Semomantics provide the best recipes to conquer Google, but Google is not enough.

Once we have conquered Google, we need to conquer the visitors on our site and convert them to returning, loyal readers. That’s what publishing and editing is all about and that’s where we build value for our advertisers.

YORGOO Press

YORGOO Press

YORGOO Press is a new YORGOO - Semiomantics idea. It’s first of all a publishing tool which contrasts sharply with YORGOO Blaster. YORGOO Blaster being focused on delivering ads to Google’s top, which it does brilliantly, YORGOO Press is also about content, readership, providing great information, topic related news, entertainment and much, much more.

Originally we were out to build a new release of Semiomantics XO and then we came across a great News Paper Theme where we could purchase a developers license to build in Semiomantics hooks and tune the code to run with all the features of Semiomantics while providing a really user-friendly surface.

YORGOO press comes in two layouts and multiple pre-configured color choices. YORGOO press can be adapted easily to any language by editing just one included language file.

But there is a lot more to it and as we progress with the development we will keep you posted.

Have a sneak preview by clicking on the screenshot and see YORGOO Press Live with some demo content we test on Google as from today on and where we expect first results by next week.

The demo site is at http://news.yorgonestoridis.com and targets Online Publishing related keywords.

DualFeeds - a Wordpress Plugin

Cape Town, February 24, 2009 - by Bianca Gubalke

After this weekend’s outstanding YCADEMY SEMINAR that was spiced up with many eye-opening if not jaw-dropping insider-tips and secrets by Internet Wizzard Yorgo Nestoridis to help all participants build their Authority and Online Business through the power of Blogging, it’s a matter of getting familiar with the new tools and strategies.

As our Blogs are all using Semiomantics Scripts - and operate as such within a Wordpress based semantic CMS Framework - and as Syndication via RSS Feeds is a modern way of automatically getting the latest News we are interested in, that are relevant to our topics and themes and that we want to integrate into what we are doing or writing about - we also want to offer the same in exchange to readers who like what they see on our blogs.

For this purpose the “Wordpress Developer Community” offers a great plugin called DualFeeds.

As learned at the past Ycademy Seminar, DualFeeds allows us to place different feed icons on our Blogs - there are basically 3 types of feeds:

1. A full post feed from the Blog - which would basically be the - http://auctiontalklive.com/feed - allowing syndication of full articles;

2. A feed for Excerpts (a summary) only and

3. A Comment Feed.

The developer, Stephen Cronin explains how it works:

“DualFeeds catches all feed requests (except comments) and formats the output: By default it strips the tag giving the full post. If it finds dualfeed=2 in the URL, it creates a summary as follows (in order of precedence, first to last):

* The extract is used, if one exists.
* The post is cut at the tag, if it exists.
* The post is cut after a user-definable number of characters.”

It’s a modern way of building a readership and we could compare this to multiple Opt-ins.

It’s a matter of personal choices; some readers or subscribers prefer having the full post to read right away while others prefer excerpts or summaries they can quickly skim through and then follow up at a later stage. So the advantage of DualFeeds from Wordpress is that they offer both formats and the subscriber makes his own choice.

Another advantage is that they can be neatly integrated where we want them, at the top or at the bottom of our text or post, either as the well-visible typical orange icons of which quite a selection is offered and you just choose the optimal match for your design - or as simple text.

It also includes Feedburner - which is in itself so complex that it deserves a whole article!

If you just got started, DualFeeds is yet another great Wordpress plugin to be integrated!

Happy Blogging with Semiomantics!

Subsequent to the Ycademy Online Publishing Seminar which took place on February 21 and 22, 2009, Bianca Gubalke has started to work on the implementation of the Publishing Model presented at the seminar.

Bianca Gubalke

I have loaded Bianca’s video to YouTube as I believe it’s a great demonstration of how to stream-line own efforts, information flows and communication by applying a clear concept, such as the YORGOO Publishing Concept.

Online Publishing Concept by YORGOO - Ycademy

The video features the application of a Publishing Model for online Publishing using WordPress Blog Scripts, Syndication and Aggregation as well as the advanced use of RSS, Atom and Mail Feeds for the purpose of reaching High Visibility on and response from Google. The Model is based on the idea that the proper Author Reputation needs to be built and protected and that a user-friendly Publication in form of a blog based Magazine for example requires the execution different tasks than the Author’s blog to reach its goals .

Bianca Gubalke Applies the Model to her own situation: Bianca is posting to multiple blogs at present without a clear distinction of the different caps she is wearing: Author,Editor, Publisher, Advertiser.

The purpose of the demonstration is to apply the Publishing and Communication Model presented by Yorgo Nestoridis at the Ycademy Publishing Seminar on February 22 and 23, 2009 to a particular case, whereas a status quo is adapted to a concept, based on personal purpose and goals set.

The execution and implementation of the concept will simplify and rationalize tasks, increase Publishing Power and build increased Authority for Bianca Gubalke as an Autor and Publisher.

Stream-lining multiple websites, blogs and communication flows and enriching them with advanced semantic criteria will lead to increased traffic, readership and interest by Advertisers.

Part 1

Part 2

Ycademy Online Seminars are a unique opportunity to get in touch with the latest technologies; workshops let participants test and use advanced software, features and models and to meter the results subsequently over time.

How to build high visibility as a small Business Developer?

The best answer is: do as the Big Boys do, not as they say! Publishing to grab visibility needs a concept and what is scalable upwards, is also scalable downwards for a long as the cost does not wipe you out from the radar. And here comes the most important principle we have always been following at YORGOO - Ycademy:

Team-work!

Economy of scale (downwards) is a matter of team-work, where work, cost and results are shared.

What makes individual Publishers lose out?

One of the most important factors is: your creative work escapes you as it is picked up and framed by large networks. This is often due to a Catch 22 situation: to promote your web site you promote it on book-mark sites such as Google, Delicious, Technorati, Blogcatalog as well as on social networks who have established high publishing power, visibility and authority.

Your publication contributes to their dominant position in the market which has as a logic consequence, that they occupy a good part of top Google listings.

In as much as you are concerned, your content is doing exactly that: it promotes someone else’s publishing framework.

Most Blogging Gurus advise to profit from the possibility of promoting your Blog on such large networks and they also may have sold you a Blogging Template or script, where your advertising is organically separated from your original content: your blog posts are clean, your ads are usually in the Sidebars.

The large networks are obviously not interested in your ads, but in your original content only. That content can be stripped easily using content feeds and embedding such content into the Big Brother’s framework … where Big Brothers Ads are then associated to YOUR content.

In other words: if you want visibility, you need the help from Big Brother and you pay the price for it: you lose your income potential.

The Concept of YORGOO Publishing

YORGOO Publishing has started building a Publishing Network with two main objectives:

1. A high degree of visibility of the YORGOO Publishing Framework and

2. A High Visibility of the published Authors.

In clear text: YORGOO Publishing as a Framework and the Authors should rank ahead of Big Brother Frameworks on Search Results.

After almost 12 months of testing and implementing various strategies we are able to draw first conclusions which we share and implement at Ycademy, namely in our online Seminars.

We distinguish between the following elements we focus on:

The Authors’ Authority

The Frameworks Authority

The Publications visibility

YORGOO Publishing Model

Authors’ Authority

As a creator of original content you can build authority namely if your content is ‘branded’ and if your Publisher respects that branding. An Author’s notice with a link back to the Author’s source is appropriate.

Recommendation: An Author should have a source site, through which he provides content to the Publisher and link back to the source site from each piece of content created and published. Example: YorgoNestoridis.com

I use the Semiomantics Author Script for this purpose which forces content focused clean code, probably one of the most important criteria for gaining authority, attention and the goodwill of publishers.

Hosting South Africa

Framework Authority

A Publisher needs a Framework with high visibility, meaning: top Google listings, and loads of them in the keywords relative to his target. To achieve that goal, good content is not sufficient. The Framework itself can acquire reputation and authority. Once the Framework has achieved such authority, most any content published within that Framework will get high visibility.

Recommendation: A Framework should be able to place itself on Search Engines ahead of Big Brother sites. It must be flexible, semantically efficient and highly optimized (on-site optimization as well as off-site optimization) to beat large publishers regularly, providing a more targeted experience than the usual mash up and approximate optimization Big Brothers can live with. Example: YORGOOPublishing.com.

I use a combination of Publishing and Aggregating Software, similar to the Ycademy Pro websites at Ycademy.net. The Semiomantics Publisher Script allows to aggregate multiple authors to stream-line content in a search engine efficient way to the out-put publication (the website) which can either be on the site itself or which can be a third site providing post-editing facilities to produce a reader-friendly appealing Publication (Example: YORGOOBlaster.com).

Publication

The final product of the effort is a Publication, which must provide well coded targeted and framework contextual content which besides being highly optimized (readable by spiders and bots) must provide an appealing experience for the readers. Readers feel at easy when they find quickly what they are looking for, when the layout and graphics are attractive, when the style provides easy access and readability and when in the end the reader either bookmarks us to return and/or registers with our feeds or site.

Hosting YORGOO Blaster

Advertising

Advertising is Publisher’s privilege and we therefore need to think about creating the mix of content and advertising in a systematic way on our Publisher Site (Framework). Imagine the following scenario: The Framework provides advertising space for example on the sidebar. Such ads are easy to strip by extracting content Feeds only.

It is therefore interesting to include Advertising links directly in the content as well as in the Feeds (ad on ads). Ycademy.net websites use automation software for this process, providing thus an out-put which carries the ads within the content.

Trigger-words are pre-configured to generate hyperlinks to external or internal ads, sales pages or other promotional materials. As these links are created in a contextual way and as the link targets are well known by us, all links lead to contextual content on a site under our own control with the advantage that we don’t need to configure the links with a ‘nofollow’ instruction for search bots.

The result is amazing: Google will appreciate to follow links where at the other end there is contextual content. The site we target profits from a link in, and the publication gains authority by providing access to additional relevant content. Last but not least: we profit from our authority as a Framework and Author to ‘recommend’ to our readers products and services we are comfortable with.

The Dark Side of the Moon

Do you remember when almost 2 years ago Facebook abused its users Authority to pass on ads to the users’ friends and relations, creating thus the impression that the user was recommending the promoted services or products? Facebook lost the legal battle. How about if large publishers associate their ads to our content from the sidebar or in the content area of their sites? It seems that this is OK, looking at the way even Google is dealing with the issue.

How about sticking Hyperlinks under trigger-words provided by third party Author’s content?

In fact, the result is even more exciting than what Facebook had in mind, namely if third party content is published in a more efficient way through your Framework, than through the original Author’s own publication.

Zebra 2

We all know the sort of plugins which create links to keyword relevant content, such as dictionaries, Wikis or also search engine related service; so why should we not be able to stick our own links to such trigger words, targeting our commercial content?

I leave the question open for discussion. It’s an interesting zone we are exploring here, namely for users of YORGOO Blasters, the most aggressive niche sites I am aware of. Imagine you could feed your Blasters not straight of Author’s sites but through your aggregator, which will take care of your interest as a publisher, which is in the balance of content and advertising to make the business viable.

The Ycademy Seminar is dealing with exactly these issues this week-end and I am looking forward to the practical field tests which are expected to return first results this coming week.

The Cost

Cost in Time and Money is a typical stumbling block for may. At YORGOO - Ycademy we try to minimize the impact of cost and to optimize the time factor.

To do this we provide an infrastructure for our Publishers equipped with the latest and most advanced technology. High capacity servers allow large amounts of information streams to be stored, sorted and prepared for publication. Cost per user reduction is some 80%.

The second most important financial impact results from the preparatory work for specific publications, type YORGOOblaster.com. The post editing process and specific tuning for advertising in a given layout and format requires automation processes we can rationalize by sharing relevant software and server capacities. Semiomantics.net will provide these services.

The final publication (magazine type, news paper type or blog) can be hosted anywhere and published in a teleguided way using feed out puts from the post editor. Multiple such out-puts can be generated for multiple purposes.

Finally, the original author’s input can also be streamed from a relatively simple site, provided it generates clean code, which is not only a matter of the script used but more a matter of editing discipline.

While looking forward to today’s Webmaster Training with hopefully the solution to our RSS syndication and feed problems as concerens our Blogs, and reading Hanno Coetzee’s summary of what he pays for his Hosting in South Africa… and bearing in mind that I pay more than that each month since years simply to be able to attend the monthly Ycademy Seminars and the corresponding preparatory Trainings… I discovered an interesting article concerning the matter. . . and a challenging avenue to pursue within our targeted context:

The study was commissioned by Nokia Siemens Networks and conducted by the London Business School’s economic consulting firm LECG. Fifty countries were included in the 2009 report and were divided into 25 ‘Resource and Efficiency Driven’ and 25 ‘Innovation Driven’ economies.
“[South Africa shows] high levels of business and government spending on computer software, hardware and services. The high penetration level of secure servers suggests that there is a very sophisticated user base within South Africa” said the report.

According to the report, businesses in South Africa spend more on computer services than any other resource and efficiency driven economy.

The high spending from both government and business sectors bodes well for South Africa’s future in ICT, with the report maintaining that the country is “better placed than most to quickly ramp-up on ICT”.

The challenges facing South Africa’s ICT industry included lack of broadband uptake, and the need for improvement in workforce skills and education. Confusing regulations and policies for would-be entrants in the fixed line sector were also said to hinder further growth.

The survey suggested that South Africa could better maximse the potential of ICT investments by “addressing increased broadband rollout and a deregulation of the fixed-line telecommunications sector. An investment in human development would also help provide more workers with greater ICT skills.”

How to become a Blogging Star

Cape Town, February 20, 2009

Communication - Bianca Gubalke and PiuPiu

When looking at “Online Communication” today we automatically think of. . .

Emailing

MSN Messenger, LIVE Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, IM etc

Talking via VOIP - genre VOIPbuster, SKYPE, Googletalk etc

Online Conferencing

etc. . .

Here it’s obvious: here we are connecting directly, talking peson to person and even seeing each other.

However. . . did you ever think that everything (or almost) we put out on the Internet - and that remains there forever so watch what you put out… - everything is meant to COMMUNICATE, meaning send out a message to whoever is the targeted receiver or comes across it in one way or another?

A website TALKS to potential visitors and customers.

An online SHOP talks to potential visitors and customers - 24/7/365 that is!

A blog TALKS to either a readership interested in a specific topic - or to potential visitors and customers.

Online. . . this happens 24/7/365 and once the message is out there on the virtual highway… it’s gone, out of your control and circulating through Web 2.0 forever… unstoppable and… tracable.

So the important point here is that everything we put out there on the net is sort of written in stone… communicating. Everything!

Traditional websites are rather of static nature. The visitor navigates through chapters that interest him, chapters that may be updated from time to time as products or prices change, the company comes up with some News or Laudatio… but basically once he’s seen it he got the info and moves on. . .

Blogging websites are of dynamic nature - meaning they communicate rapidly changing content - ideally in contextual style. The visitor, reader or customer finds new information, fresh news and posts whenever he visits the blog. Additionally, he has a way to interact by leaving comments or contribute with his own articles, reviews and other interesting material. These blogs can be linked and syndicated via RSS feed readers into other blogs where they add to other bloggers’ content - brief: whole interactive blogging web within Web 2.0 is the result!

Blogging is a vital, viral and vibrant part of Online Communication today. It’s snaking its way through the consistently accelerating web, inescapable… forcing everyone who wants to build serious Authority or Business on the Internet to learn how to master the secret rituals of virtual snake charming!

However… there is blogging and there is BLOGGING!

There’s an Art or rather a Science to it… if you want to go beyond your personal diary or sharing mudpie recipies and especially if you don’t want to disappear in the timeless ocean of millions of blogs… but stand out and reach top rankings on Google: the TOP TEN ON GOOGLE that is!

The answer is: go to school first!
This Seminar is again a hands on ‘ Crash Course’ resulting in a product of which the secrets have never been publicly released by those who successfully implement similar strategies. Amongst Publishers using such technology you find about all the big news sites and publishers who succeded to build extremely high visibility on search engines or who use it to build and maintain Authority.”

Developments online are accelerating at lightning speed and to…

firstly set up a blog - even personalizing it from a visual point of view as you see in my personal example of “HOSTING SOUTH AFRICA” at the top… my first shot at this - click the pic and it leads directly to the YORGOO Blaster Blog I set up in just a few minutes…) -

secondly create contextual content and advertising…

Ycademy Seminar: Editing - Publishing - Aggregating: this week-end

Details: HERE

This very demanding Seminar will build with participants the centerpiece of a personal Publishing and Publicising Network. The Seminar creates thelink between the January Seminar and the March Seminar where we will build our own personal online Magazine type site, the actual authority Publication based on the model of the site at YORGOOBlaster.com.

The Aggregation module we will build this week-end will allow to manage, control and stream in and out an unlimited number of feeds for further use in unlimited satellite niche sites of the type YORGOO Blaster.

YORGOO Blaster 2

This Seminar is like all the previous ones a hands on Crash Course resulting in a product of which the secrets have never been publicly released by those who successfully implement similar strategies. Amongst Publishers using such technology you find about all the big news sites and publishers who success to build extremely high visibility on search engines or who use it to build and maintain Authority.

Frankly, I regret that we are not able to extend this training to more than the limited number of Participants, however the preparatory work and maintenance work involved here by building the necessary infrastructure for each participant pushes us to the limits of our capacity.

The Seminar Ticket is as always the cheapest way to put the hand on the latest technology as the software value (licensed) exceeds $500 for each participants site. Think about it for next Month.

Preview March Seminar: Build your online Magazine

YORGOO Blaster 3

The Seminar Ticket is as always the cheapest way to put the hand on the latest technology as the software value (licensed) exceeds $500 for each February participants site. Think about it for next Month. But the money should not be the driving engine, we are interested in Participants with a high degree of interest and Motivation.

March will be the Month when we will focus on Editing and Building your Authority Publication. Ideally the site is built on YourName.com or a sub-domain thereof, respectively on YourBusiness.com.

We will work on editing posts in a modern, search engine and feed efficient way with a special focus on the Readers Experience.

A unique Course where you will end up with your own Site in the same style as YORGOOBlaster.com hosted by yourself on your domain.
